About the University of Tasmania (UTAS)
The University of Tasmania was officially founded on 1st January 1890 and is located at Sandy Bay, Tasmania. In addition to the main campus at Sandy Bay, it also operates out of the Newnham Campus and the Cradle Coast Campus. The most popular courses offered are the environmental studies that include wilderness management, marine sciences and indigenous studies in Tasmanian literature. Other unconventional courses include agriculture development, studies on the community and population and ocean study programs. The university also comprises of a Music Conservatorium, Art school and a School of Clinical studies.

Tasmanian International Scholarship
The Tasmanian International Scholarship provides commencing international students with a 25% reduction in registered tuition fees for the duration of their course (provided satisfactory grades are maintained).
All international students who submit an International Student Application to study in an undergraduate degree (with the exception of the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Dementia Care and AMC Seafaring courses) will be automatically assessed for the TIS Scholarship by our Admissions Team.
This scholarship is also available to international students applying for postgraduate coursework degrees (with a few course exceptions).
Applicants are automatically assessed for the Tasmanian International Scholarship at the time of submitting their International Student Application. Selection for this scholarship will be based on academic merit achieved in studies at secondary, diploma and degree level courses. Applications are assessed for all semester intakes and selection for this scholarship will be based on an applicant's highest level qualification prior to commencing their intended study program (minimum one-year duration). Please also note that qualifications and grading scales can vary significantly from country to country.
Offer letters will notify applicants if they have been successful in being awarded a scholarship, provided final results have been submitted. Successful TIS recipients will find inside their Offer details of the Scholarship terms and conditions, which they must read carefully. Please note that this scholarship is only available to commencing students. International Scholarships will not reassess current students based on their academic progress at the University of Tasmania.

Dean of Business and Economics MBA Merit Scholarship
This scholarship covers 50% of registered tuition fees for the full duration of the Master of Business Administration (37O1) and is awarded to high-achieving international students commencing in Semester 1, 2023 who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Be classified as an International Student as defined under the Application rules of the University of Tasmania.
Be a citizen of one of the following countries; Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudia Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Not be a student from a Transnational Education (TNE) partner affiliated with the University of Tasmania.
Not be in receipt of a full government funded scholarship.
Not be commencing at the University of Tasmania through an articulation agreement with a partner institution.
Be commencing the first year of their program in Semester 1, 2023.
Applicants who apply for academic credit or advanced standing are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship recipient may not defer commencement of the Eligible Course.
Please note that the Tasmanian International Scholarship is not available with this course.

On-going Eligibility
To retain this scholarship, recipients are required to achieve a minimum Credit (5.0/7.0) cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in all units at the end of each academic year.
The scholarship recipient must not repeat any units of study.

10% Tuition fee discounts - Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship
Overview
This scholarship provides international students who have completed an undergraduate program at the University of Tasmania with a 10% registered tuition fee reduction for enrollment in a postgraduate coursework program. The discount is available to the majority of postgraduate coursework programs (some exclusions may apply).
Eligibility
The Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship is available to University of Tasmania students who have completed an undergraduate course at UTAS and have applied for a postgraduate coursework program. Please note, students who receive more than one scholarship offer cannot retain two tuition fee scholarships; the scholarship with the highest value would be the recommended scholarship to accept.

Family Alumni Bursary
The Family Alumni Bursary provides international students who previously had, or currently have a parent, brother or sister studying at the University of Tasmania, with a 10% fee reduction on the registered tuition fees for the duration of the course.
The bursary is available for the Foundation Studies Program, undergraduate degrees (including an Honours year) and postgraduate coursework degrees.
Eligibility
Students must be able to demonstrate that they previously had, or currently have a parent or sibling studying at the University of Tasmania. Please refer to 'Apply' below for further details. This discount is also extended to students who have more than one brother or sister, who has or is studying at the University of Tasmania.
The bursary is only available to eligible Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Surgery students who commence studies in 2021 or 2022.
If a student has already been offered a Tasmanian International Scholarship (TIS) or other tuition fee reduction this Family Alumni Bursary will not apply.
