What is an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law?

To become an accredited specialist, a solicitor must meet certain requirements and go through various examination stages, testing their skills and knowledge in the specific area of the law that they are competent in. When a solicitor or lawyer receives this accreditation it is usually newsworthy due to how hard it is to be obtained.

  • PURPOSE:

    Allows international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution to live, work, and study in Australia temporarily.

    STREAMS:

    • Graduate Work stream

    • Second Post-Study Work stream

    • Replacement stream (for those whose 485 visa was cancelled)

    DURATION:

    • 18 months to 6 years depending on the stream and qualifications.

    ELIGIBILITY:

    • Under 50 years old.

    • Have held an eligible visa in the last 6 months.

    • Have a recent qualification from a CRICOS-registered course.

    • Meet the requirements of the specific stream.
